Welcome to FHS Auto Tech
This is the first class in the coherent sequence of classes for Automotive Technology.
This class is for Sophomores. Successful completion of this class is required for advancement in the
Automotive Technology sequence of classes.
Safety practices and procedures are introduced for working in a shop
and around others. Hand tool identification and proper uses are learned, shop
equipment safety, fire safety, welding safety, and personal safety is all part
of the curriculum. Students are in a classroom environment for the majority
of this course. The curriculum for this class is the foundation for
successful completion of the completion of Automotive Technology courses.
Auto Tech 2 (Periods 7th&8th)
This class is intended for the Sophomores and junior class.
We concentrate on the more advanced repair and theory of automobiles.
Students will have the opportunity to get in the shop to make real world repairs on vehicles.
After completing this course the student will have the knowledge to make routine repairs and maintenance on vehicles.
Auto Tech 3- Practicum (5th&6th Periods)
This class is intended for the seniors and advanced juniors.
In this class, students will have the opportunity on a regular basis to apply the theory of Automotive Technology through
practical hands-on application in our full service shop. Advanced engine diagnostics and repairs. Steering and suspension work, electrical problems, and brake inspections and repairs are just some of the task these students undertake. Grades are taken based on shop participation and following through with repairs.
After completing this coherent sequence of classes students been very successful in their chosen career paths, post secondary education,
and service to our country in various branches of the military.
The CTE Department of Quinlan ISD is dedicated to providing
