Hi! My name is Kara Harding. My husband and I have two children. Ronan is almost 5 and my daughter, Zahara, is two.

This is my second year teaching the Business Information Management (or BIM) 1 and 2 classes. I absolutely love it! I cannot wait to meet all my students! I look forward to getting to know each and every one of them throughout the school year.

I love Quinlan ISD and hope to be here for many years to come. Ford High School is one of my very favorite places to be. I appreciate everyone in the district that makes it an amazing place to work!

A little more about me...
Growing up as a teacher and coach's daughter, I attended a few different schools within a couple hours of Dallas and graduated from Granbury High School. I moved to Denver, Colorado for college and ended up staying 15 years! If I could have stayed in school at the University of Colorado Denver forever, I would have. I absolutely loved college and Denver! I earned a BA in History and a minor in Religious Studies in 2008.

My teaching career began at Ridge View Academy, a charter school of Denver Public Schools and a partner with the Division of Youth Corrections. Along with being a classroom teacher of English, US History, and World Geography, I was also a special education teacher and the campus assessment coordinator.

In 2016, it was time to return to Texas. My parents had already bought a house in West Tawakoni and I decided to come, too. My extended family has deep roots in Hunt County, but I've only been a resident for a few years.

Prior to Quinlan ISD, I taught sixth grade English Language Arts at Legacy Preparatory Charter Academy in Mesquite for a year and a half. What's with that half year? Well, I was fortunate enough to be able to take a semester off and travel Europe for a few months in the fall of 2016. But I couldn't wait the rest of the year to return to the classroom, so I took a position at Legacy in January of 2017.

My passion is learning and inspiring others to learn and grow to become the best human they can be! Becoming a life-long learner is one of the keys to success.
