Officer Serrato is entering his 15th year of law enforcement. Prior to joining QISD, Officer Serrato served as the Chief of Police for the Greenville ISD Police Department where he helped expand the department from a 3-man department to a 7-man department. Officer Serrato served as a campus police officer for the Terrell ISD Police Department the previous 5 years before that. Officer Serrato also has experience working on the county level as a Deputy Sheriff with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.
In his 14 years of Law Enforcement, Officer Serrato has worked in several areas which include experience as an FTO (Field Training Officer), Background Investigator, Gang Unit Officer and several other specialized units within School Based Law Enforcement (SBLE). Officer Serrato is a certified Mental Health Peace Officer as well as a certified TCOLE instructor.
Officer Serrato is married with 3 kids ages 17, 14, and 6.
